Application Engineer – SkillReal USA

SkillReal helps manufacturers improve product quality and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Position Overview SkillReal US is seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer with a strong background in automotive manufacturing, quality inspection, and measurement systems. This role is customer-facing and plays a critical part in pre-sales, proof-of-concept (POC), and solution deployment activities. The Application Engineer will act as the technical bridge between customers, partners, and SkillReal’s product and R&D teams, ensuring successful adoption of SkillReal’s 3D AI platform. Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement • Work closely with the sales team to support pre-sales activities and technical evaluations. • Engage with customer quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams to define application requirements and inspection challenges. • Translate customer requirements into technical solutions based on SkillReal’s platform. • Deliver technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and workshops to customers and partners. Proof of Concept & Solution Delivery • Design, execute, and manage proof-of-concept (POC) projects to validate SkillReal solutions in real manufacturing environments. • Configure, deploy, and optimize SkillReal applications for automotive inspection and measurement use cases. • Provide on-site implementation support at customer facilities, including system setup, tuning, and validation. • Support customer acceptance testing and transition from POC to production deployment. Partner & Ecosystem Support • Lead technical onboarding of new solution and technology partners. • Support system integrators and partners with application design, best practices, and troubleshooting. • Act as a technical point of contact for partners during evaluations and joint customer engagements. Internal Collaboration • Provide feedback from the field to product management and R&D to support roadmap and feature development. • Contribute to application notes, demos, and technical documentation. • Stay current with automotive inspection trends, customer needs, and competitive solutions. Required Qualifications • Strong background in automotive manufacturing processes. • Hands-on experience in automotive parts quality inspection and measurement. • Experience working with industrial inspection and measurement systems such as: o Cognex o Keyence o Perceptron o Hexagon o Zeiss o or similar automated inspection and metrology solution providers. • Solid understanding of in-line inspection, automated measurement, and quality control systems. • Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Application Engineer, Field Engineer, or Systems Engineer. • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. • Experience with software-based, AI-driven, or 3D vision inspection solutions. • Familiarity with machine vision, 3D sensing, metrology, robotics, or industrial automation. • Experience working with OEM and Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
